    Polystyrene foam oozes out of a machine

    • Styrofoam and polystyrene foam are hard to recycle because they are mostly air.
    • The materials make up one-third of landfill waste, and we make 15 million metric tons of foam every year. 
    • One company in Mexico converts the foam into pellets, which can be turned into products like photo frames.
