Coronavirus Summit County reports first death from coronavirus Drew Scofield 1:52 PM, Mar 26, 2020

SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio — Summit County Public Health officials announced Thursday that a patient infected with coronavirus has died. The death marks the first person in the county who has died from COVID-19.

County officials said the individual — they did not identify a gender — was in their 70s.

Currently, there are 50 cases of coronavirus in Summit County, according to SCPH. Twenty-seven of those cases are male patients, with 23 being female. Fifteen people have been hospitalized due to the virus. The age ranges of the patients are between 21 and 94-years-old.
